Mercury Counter was made possible by a successful Kickstarter campaign. 56 backers pledged over $1,100 to fund the mastering and produce a run of merchandise.The Kickstarter produced two distinct products: the Mercury Counter album and a run of merchandise. The album was distributed digitally and produced into physical CDs that were sent all across the globe.

For promotion, a number of videos were produced including multiple livestreams incorporating the Mercury Counter album and source movie, “D.O.A.”

Mercury Counter has been the subject of two My So Called 8bit Life episodes (#140 and #145).
